Lynda Gauld

Lynda was until recently Head of External Affairs at Pfizer with responsibility for all aspects of External Affairs for Scotland and Northern Ireland. During her ten years with Pfizer, Lynda has managed a number of highly successful partnership relationships and has sought to identify new approaches to policy development in her field. She has obtained considerable experience in managing issues and corporate change.

Before working in the pharmaceutical sector with Pfizer, Lynda spent twenty years in the NHS as a nurse and a manager and three years as Regional Manager of the Institute of Health Services Managers (now Institute of Healthcare Managers) and has a strong working knowledge of the NHS and the public sector, its successes and challenges.

Anne-Marie Barry

Anne-Marie has over twelve years experience of carrying out research, principally in relation to social inequalities and health and wellbeing. Her particular expertise lies with working with hard to reach groups and she has developed a range of participatory and inclusive techniques for engaging specific client groups, such as children and young people and people with learning disabilities. Anne-Marie has experience of dealing with sensitive and confidential topics areas, such as alcohol and drug use, sexual health, mental health and bereavement.

Prior to working independently Anne-Marie was a Senior Consultant with Hexagon Research and Consulting and before that with Blake Stevenson.  From 1994 to 2000 she worked as a lecturer in sociology at the Robert Gordon University, specialising in the sociology of health.

Anne-Marie has a doctorate in Women’s Studies from the University of York and before that she attended the University of Manchester and the University of Leeds.
